IT & Desktop Support · Self-taught technologist
I keep technology reliable, secure, and easy to use, and I explain it in plain language to people of every experience level. Years of hands-on work across Windows, Linux, networking, and the web, driven by a simple habit: solving real problems for real people.
Hi, I'm Dakotah.
Troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and networks, then documenting it so the fix sticks. Calm, patient help-desk support for whoever's stuck.
Servers, home networks, custom PCs, and live websites that I keep running and up to date. I learn new tools fast and I'm comfortable owning a system end to end.
From coaching a robotics team in programming to teaching my own kids, I have a knack for making complicated things click, quickly and without jargon.
About
My route into tech wasn't a classroom. It was a need. As an over-the-road truck driver and a single father of two daughters, my time at home was precious, so I started automating the small stuff to get more of it back. One project led to the next, and a practical fix turned into a genuine craft.
I taught myself by doing: setting up a Linux home server, wiring a secure home network, building a PC from parts, running virtual machines to break things safely, and eventually designing and shipping real websites. Along the way I picked up the part I enjoy most: sitting with someone who's frustrated by a piece of technology and helping them feel capable again.
That's why desktop and user support fits me. It rewards the things I'm actually good at: patient troubleshooting, clear communication, careful documentation, and a service-first attitude. I'm not chasing the next shiny thing. I want to be the dependable person who keeps the technology working and the people using it confident.

What drives me
Everything I build traces back to the same place: my two daughters, and a belief that technology is at its best when it quietly makes everyday life work better. That's what pulled me from logistics into IT, and it's why I gravitate toward roles where I'm helping a real community, whether staff, neighbors, or families, get more out of the tools in front of them.
I'm not looking for a stepping stone. I'm looking for a place to be genuinely useful, to keep learning, and to do dependable work that matters to the people around me.
